Old Liverpool hand Sami Hyypia becomes Leverkusen’s interim coach
A string of poor results including a weekend loss to Freiburg ended Robin Dutt’s reign at Bayer Leverkusen. Dutt’s team was sitting in seventh in the Bundesliga far removed from its runners up position last season.
Bayer announced Sami Hyypia, coach of the reserve team and Sascha Lewandowski, the U-19 head honcho would manage Leverkusen to the end of the season. Hyypia is well known in the Premiership having spent 10 years at Liverpool with over 300 appearances and as part of the 2004-2005 Champions League winning team. Would he like to come to Liverpool and coach? There maybe a job vacancy this summer.
