The Sun reports Man Utd are in advanced negotiations with Inter over Wesley Sneijder with his signing expected within the week. David Gill, Utd’s CEO did not accompany Man Utd on their US tour staying back to tie up the last details before Sneijder is announced. Inter have settled on £35m as his transfer fee.
In Milan, Inter’s Marco Branca however was still denying Sneijder was on sale. As per Branca, there has been no official offer tendered and club is committed to keep their star midfielder.
Sir Alex has made clear he expects a quality replacement for Paul Scholes and his announced targets were Xavi, Iniesta, Nasri, and Sneijder. The first three proved unattainable with Sneijder, relatively available because Inter appears to be in the process of offloading with the financial reforms looming large.
