Roberto Mancini’s training tactics questioned

Raymond Verheijen, a former City conditioning coach under Mark Hughes who was fired by Roberto Mancini a few months after his arrival has implicated the Italian’s training regime for causing the spate of injuries befalling the club’s players.
This of course has set tongues wagging as it fits in with past complaints from players, especially Carlos Tevez. From what one hears of Mancini’s training methods it is not so different from that of Rinus Michels at Ajax in the 1970s that led to the Dutch club’s golden years. Seems like Mr Verhiejen has an axe to grind and is timing it perfectly.
What Mancini can be faulted for quite credibly is stocking up all that attacking talent and have only six goals scored after five matches. Half of those goals came against Liverpool with City’s owner watching. Maybe it is the motivational levels that need to be examined more thoroughly?
