Ole is reporting that Barca has reached an agreement with Liverpool over the sale of Javier Mascherano for €15 million. In addition, they will also get Alyaksandr Hleb, as a sweetener which according to reports helped break the impasse.
If this is true, then Mascherano will take Yaya Toure’s place in the Barca midfield and unite with fellow Argentine Leo Messi. For Arsenal fans, we’ll get to see Hleb back in the Premiership – this time in opposition. The highly skilled midfielder with the dazzling ball skills never really lived up to his promise as a Gunner.

Surely Liverpool aren’t going to let him go for such a low figure. When yaya toure left Barcelona for over £20 million, why would the reds sell a better player for anyless.
I have herd he is holding out to re-join Rafa in January at Inter Milan for 22 million Euros? And the bookies odds say that aswell.
Mathew, I think the report says that adding Hleb to the deal made the difference – its a cash and player transfer. The report is out in the Argentinian media – there is no mention of it in Spain.
