Sparky holds the key to Schwarzer arrival at Arsenal

Mark Hughes takes up the Fulham job and is now closer at hand to renew his charges of the “dark arts” that Arsenal practices. Cesc Fabregas should enjoy these encounters a bit more fully and Wenger will be sure to pump Sparky’s flesh more vigorously with the flash bulbs going off.
However, more importantly for Arsenal, his managerial appointment could expedite Mark Schwarzer’s arrival at Arsenal.
That is because David James wants to move to Craven Cottage but there has been no one at the helm to approve of the transfer. With the arrival of Sparky, it should be a matter of time before Arsenal put in an improved bid for Schwarzer paving the way for his arrival at Arsenal as Fulham compensate with a James switch.

  1. Hughes did a superb job at Ewood Park on similar resources to what he will have at Fulham. He was turning things around a bit at Manchester City – when he was pushed, Manchester City had lost the fewest number of games in the Premier League, the reason he got the push was due to needing to convert the draws into wins. I am hoping he does well at Fulham. Good luck to Mark Hughes.

  2. Hughes will do well. But they should try to keep Schwarzer, unless Arsenal splash the cash. I guess James would be a bargain but Schwarzer is the better keeper.

  3. Kev, hopefully Arsenal comes up with some more money. We just can’t do with Almunia and Fabianksi. Schwarzer will do nicely for the next 2-3 years while they develop Wojciech Sczecsny (he is 19 years old and highly regarded).
