Real Mallorca files for voluntary bankruptcy

Real Mallorca who did so well in the Liga almost qualifying for the Champions League are heading to bankruptcy. The club has run up debt amounting to 60-70 million euros and are struggling to pay the tax bill and the salaries of the players and the coaching staff.
Mallorca’s owner Mateo Alemany, is confident that this is a temporary situation and called voluntary administration, a solution not a problem.
Other clubs who are in danger are Valencia and Villareal who are offloading their most expensive players in order to reduce the wage bill and pay off the debt. Valencia sold David Villa to Barcelona for 42 million euros and David Silva maybe the next to go to Real. Villareal may get rid of Giuseppe Rossi and Diego Lopez.
