Jose Mourinho seems to have suffered an attack of real homesickness after visiting Stamford Bridge.
He has had it with Italian football.
“It is a simple situation,” said the 47-year-old, who is in his second season with Inter.
“I am happy at Inter, but unhappy with Italian football.”
The feeling is mutual according to Mourinho.
“Because I do not like it (Italian football) and because it doesn’t like me.”
Can’t be more blunt than that. He has already decided to boycott the Italian media before and after matches. So which Premiership team is going to extricate him from his misery? From the looks of it, Mourinho seems to be suffering from separation anxiety ever since he left Chelsea.
There is City, Liverpool, and even Man Utd who might solicit his services. And yes, don’t discount Chelsea where a more mellowed Roman Abramovich might be willing to let bygones be bygones and bring in the manager who led the club to their only Premiership titles.
It is significant that Mourinho seems to have issued these words on the eve of Inter’s CL semi-final match against CSKA Moscow. With Inter the only Serie team in the last eight, these words are essentially not exactly laudatory of the Italian league’s future.
