Iran’s national players show solidarity with protestors remaining silent during national anthem

Kudos to the national team as they show their support for the protests sweeping Iran against the brutal crackdown of the Iranian regime on women and supporters of women’s rights. They remained silent as their national anthem played out before their match against England. And many fans carried banners that read “Women, Life, Freedom” in support of the protests.

“Freedom for Iran. Stop killing children in the streets!” shouted one Iranian woman.

The protest have found a supporter in Ehsan Hajsafi, part of Team Melli who said, “They should know that we are with them. And we support them. And we sympathize with them regarding the conditions,” Hajsafi, who plays for AEK Athens, told a news conference.

Brave man.
