Arsenal won but Sevilla won too – thus gaining the advantage of playing one of the runners-up in the first knockout round, with the second leg at home.Arsenal as a result will be thrown in against clubs such as AC Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Porto when the draw is made in Nyon a week or so later.More on that story here…

I’ve been using a point system I developed to rank every club in the world. Its something I’ve worked on for a while and it takes in to count both domestic and international club results over the past year. It has been very time consuming tracking every int’l and domestic match in 2007, but fun as well. To save space, I have listed only the top 100 teams here. I hope it might spur some debate:

That’s an interesting list Derek. I’m not sure why Arsenal are above Chelsea, who won two trophies (beating Arsenal for one) since Arsenal were pretty poor from January through April. Liverpool actually finished above them in the league, and got to the Champion’s League final, but are much further back. Still, it’s a good list to pick apart.
Hi Derek
Elaborating on Andrew’s point- are you taking into account transfer money? That would account for Arsenal ranking a bit higher than Chelsea.
Derek’s list deserves its own post.
No way Milan is at 28. No way. Beat by Hamburger and Bordeaux? Fuhgeddaboutit…
