And an accidental handball from Schweinsteiger led to them conceding the first goal to a penalty awarded in the last minute of the first half.
Despite the dominance in possesion the missing Mario Gomez was sorely missed and Thomas Muller was a shadow of himself.
At the other end Griezmann scored both the penalty and France’s second goal.

Germany have bowed out and now all that stands between France and the crown is Portugal.
France are the odds of favourites unless Ronaldo has a rabbit or two left to pull out of his top hat.
