In the excitement of Euro 2016 getting underway many folks have kind of forgotten that the special Copa America centenary edition is due to kick of on Saturday 4th June – in the USA
Copa America started in 1916 in Argentina. This year the world’s oldest international tournament enters its centenary year and to commemorate the event,the tournament is being played again – even though it was also held last year.
This special edition is called the Copa America Centenario.
Stars on display…
Argentina will be led by Lionel Messi. Uruguay will be with Messi’s Barca teammate Luis Suarez, while Chile will have their talisman Alexis Sanchez.
Brazil won’t feature Neymar because he’s being rested for the Olympics.
Also in action is Wes Morgan, skipper of Leicester City, who will play for Jamaica.
