Manuel Pellegrini bid a bitterish farewell to the Etihad on Sunday after his last home game as Manchester City manager.City were not able to give him a fitting farewell by finishing things on a winning note for him.
In a must win game against Arsenal they were not able to muster enough.Arsenal came back twice to draw the game 2-2 and now Pellegrini hands Pep a team that may or may not make it to the Champion’s League next year.
If they don’t make it – it will be a massive disappointment – but not total meltdown.
It all depends on how United – who are a mere two points behind them – are able to do in their next two games.
Sadly the stadium was half-empty by the time Pellegrini took to the pitch to deliver a short farewell speech -which was pretty unfair on Pelligrini who brought a Premier League title and two League Cups to the Etihad Stadium.
That’s the fickle nature of loyalty.
