I don’t get it. Wasn’t there a French player offside (the one on the goalie’s right) when Zidane initiated that free kick in the 57th minute?
Why didn’t Brazil whine about that? Is it that it was not offside because the player wasn’t “in the way” of any of the relevant defenders?
And why did Brazil put only three guys down there to defend?
It all seems strange to me.
That said, the goal was a beauty. And Zidane’s graceful play was sublime.
