Declan Rice decided April 8, 2025, was the perfect night to do a David Beckham — and Real Madrid were the unlucky audience.
In Arsenal’s emphatic 3-0 win over Real Madrid, Rice somehow morphed into a free-kick wizard, scoring not one, but two direct free-kicks. Yes, Declan “never-scored-a-free-kick-in-his-life” Rice. The man had 338 career games without a single one… and then curled in two beauties like it was just another Tuesday night.
The first came in the 58th minute — a sweet, bending strike that kissed the inside of the near post. Courtois dived in vain. Rice was back at it 12 minutes later, this time whipping it into the top corner and Courtois dived in vain – again.
To cap it off, Mikel Merino added a third and Arsenal walked away with a 3-0 win — and Real Madrid walked away wondering what hit them.
