School Team scales new heights

Our school team reached dizzying heights – relatively speaking. The grassroot level football scene in India where I live is pretty dismal. The grounds are hopelessly waterlogged in the monsoon season. At the district level the elimination rounds between competing schools have games whose duration is usually about 7 to 10 minutes . The games from quarter finals upwards might last about 15 minutes a half if we get lucky. So,in the face of all that, our school team did really well to become district champions. It’s a feat we last achieved many years ago. .Congratulations to the Under 14 team of St Augustine’s High School,Vasai (Palghar District) Maharashtra – India. (Maybe we have a future Messi or Beckham in there somewhere)
