17 years ago,on the 13th of May, Steven Gerrard led Liverpool to victory against West Ham United in the 2006 English FA Cup Final, in a game which came to be known as “The Gerrard Final,”
Gerrard scored a spectacular goal in the last few minutes of normal time to send the game into extra time, and finally to penalties, where they won 3-1 in the shootout.
And to make up for all that ,8 years later,on the 27th of April he slipped and let the title slip away.
Sadly people remember the slip story more.
Shakespeare probably had poor old Steven Gerrard in mind when he said…”The Evil That Men Do Lives After Them; The Good is Oft Interred with their Bones” ( Julius Caesar)
