Soccer is a growing sport in China, and the Chinese government has made significant efforts to promote it in recent years. In 2016, the Chinese government announced a plan to become a leading football nation by 2050, and since then, there has been a significant increase in investment in the sport.
However, the status of football in China is still relatively low compared to other countries, and the national team has struggled to achieve significant success. Despite significant investment in domestic leagues, the Chinese Super League (CSL) still lacks the level of competition and talent seen in other top leagues such as the English Premier League or Spain’s La Liga.
Additionally, there have been several issues related to corruption, match-fixing, and mismanagement in Chinese football, which have affected its reputation both domestically and internationally.
The Chinese government has also announced plans to bid for the FIFA World Cup in the future, which could further raise the profile of football in China.
However as things stand the plans for world domination in football are still not going according to plan.
