For the first time in recorded history a World Cup qualifying match was suspended about 7 minutes into the game due to four players being in breach of Covid 19 safety protocols.
The gentlemen involved were Argentina’s Emiliano Martinez, Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero, and Emiliano Buendia, four Premier League players who had been in red-listed England before this international break.
The Brazil Health Department officials came and put an end to the game.
