A bit of magic that unfortunately did not end in a goal.
The game between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid was supposed to be marked with a special tribute to Suarez – to kind of try and make up for the unceremonious way in which he was booted out.
Not sure if that took place because there were some Covid protocols to be sorted out.
But the game was marked by a bit of Messi magic.
In the 40th minute Messi picked up the ball just past the halfway line on the right side of the pitch and after skipping past Saul Niguez with ease he evaded another bunch of Ateltico players and reached the edge of the box.
He then teleported himself past another three Atletico players, before firing a shot at goal.
Jan Oblak pulled off a brilliant fingertip save to deny Messi another goal for the ages.
