Holland haven’t managed to beat Germany in Germany for nearly 17 years so its a victory that has been long awaited.
Serge Gnabry’s early goal gave Germany a half-time lead but Frenkie de Jong equalised and Jonathan Tah scored an own goal to keep the score at 2 – 2 till about three quarters of the game were done.
Tony Kroos was then awarded a penalty that should not have been given but Holland were not done yet.
Malen scored his debut goal for Holland giving them the lead again and then Wijnaldum made sure of victory in injury time by scoring the fourth goal for Holland.
Holland thus are now within three points of second-placed Germany with a game in hand.
Total football may yet return to Europe.
