Messi’s name has gone missing from FIFA’s three-man shortlist for The Best Men’s Player of 2018.Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah have made the grade but Messi’s missing -for the first time since the year 2006.
Messi should have been there.
He won the Pichichi last season with a tally of 34 goals and also the European Golden shoe award for the second consecutive time.
He scored 45 goals in 54 appearances across all competitions last season and was the top European goalscorer and scored more goals than Ronaldo,Modric or Salah. He also provided more assists than them.
Argentina, with Messi on the team, lasted longer in World Cup 2018 than Portugal and Egypt – and that was solely due to the fact that Messi was on the team.He made such a huge difference to his side.Only Modric’s Croatia went further.
So how come Messi gets left out ?
FIFA needs to get it’s head examined.
