About an hour and a half left to go for Wenger to come face to face with his old nemesis Jose Mourinho once again.
Arsenal will be searching for their first EPL win at United since the year 2006 – so it’s been a while.
When Arsenal finally beat Chelsea in the Community Shield last season – it had taken them 14 attempts to do so.
Mourinho was already going into eclipse by then- his star waning, his power fading.
He hasn’t done much to turn that decline around this season.
He’s had a few scraps with referees already, been banished to the stands and got on the wrong side of Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling when he accused them of being insufficiently “brave” to face Swansea.
Smalling, it turned out later, was playing through the pain barrier with a broken bone in his foot and Shaw was playing after recovering from a badly broken leg.
He is repeating the behaviour which led to his losing control of his team in Chelsea and getting the boot eventually.
Arsenal,on the other hand, have been having a pretty good run of form.
Will Wenger triumph again?
Or will that dreaded November Curse strike again?
The countdown is counting down.
