Ronaldo.
In the world of high flying professional footballers Ronaldo has flown a couple of notches above the others.
He has an airport named after him now.
Ronaldo’s hometown Madeira paid tribute to him for leading Portugal to that remarkable victory in Euro 2016 by renaming the Santa Catarina Airport in Funchal as the Cristiano Ronaldo Airport.
Miguel Albuquerque, president of the Regional Government, made the announcement on Friday.
And if you are planning to fly in to the Cristiano Ronaldo airport anytime soon and are feeling a bit hungry after your long journey you can also drop into his new hotel in Madeira.
The hotel is called CR7 and the meal will probably burn a bit of a hole in your bank account – but as an added bonus to the meal you can also drop in and see the CR7 museum which is part of the hotel.
