Fabregas derails West Ham’s CL bid

West Ham were hoping to overtake Manchester City and move into fourth place and they looked set to do so.
They had a 2 -1 lead over Chelsea and 89 minutes of the game were over.
Then referee Bobby Madley decided that Ruben Loftus-Cheek had been tripped by Michail Antonio in the penalty area.
Subsuent replays indicated that if there had been any contact it was minimal and outside the area.
Fabregas was awarded a dubious penalty and scored – his second goal of the game.
It would have also been West Ham’s first win at Chelsea in 14 years had the penalty not happened
helsea remain unbeaten in the Premier League under interim manager Guus Hiddink.
