Pellegrini, who was taking fire for fielding a third string team against Chelsea in the FA cup the other day, will be pretty pleased with City’s 3 -1 win over Dynamo Kiev in the Champion’s League.
First-half goals from Sergio Aguero and David Silva put City in control at the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex and Toure scored the third to put the matter beyond doubt.
City are now standing on the dizzying heights of being a game away from their first Champions League quarter-final in the club’s history.
And Pellegrini said
“I think it’s important to take the right decision and think about a lot of things, about why you take this decision. But in this case, having just 13 players, it was a key decision to rest the team that day. Unfortunately we could not continue in the FA Cup.”
How nice it is to have things work out the way you want them to.
