Liverpool lose Capital One Cup on penalties

Liverpool and Manchester City played each other to a standstill – and the score remained deadlocked at 1 goal each after 120 minutes.
Penalty shootouts are a pretty cruel way to decide a game and memories of missed penalties haunt players for years.
Liverpool as a club have happy memories of penalty shootouts having won at least five major tournaments that way.
This time it was not to be.
Willy Caballero made three saves in a penalty shootout saveing the kicks of Lucas Leiva, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana and City won the League Cup for the fourth time.
Klopp is now faced with the task of picking up his players off the floor and getting their spirits up to play the next Europa League game with revived spirit.

  1. This was one of the more fun games to watch but it did not get the result I was hoping for. I wanted Liverpool to win and I was disappointed that they lost in overtime. But none the less it was a very fun game to watch.
