Chelsea won their first game without Mourinho beating Sunderland 3 – 1
Chelsea fans booed their own players for their perceived ‘betrayal’ of Mourinho which led to his eventual sacking a couple of days ago.
Mourinho’s name was chanted loudly and some spectators held aloft banners declaring their love for the missing Mourinho. Cesc Fàbregas’s and Diego Costa’s got booed early on and when Pedro scored the chant was.. “Where were you when we were shit?”
It was unusual to see fans getting upset at seeing their team playing well.
One banner stated “You let José down. You let us down.”
Another called Fàbregas, Costa and Eden Hazard “rats”.
Guus Hiddink is walking into a seriously messed up team.
