2015 Emirates Cup: Arsenal reclaim trophy after 4 years beating Wolfsburg on Walcott goal

Full match. Theo Walcott was fed a beautifully weighted pass by Jeff Reine-Adelaide in the 67th minute and bursting into the box curled the ball with the outside of his foot past Diego Benaglia. Arsenal won the Emirates Cup after four years with 13 points with Villareal finishing second with ten points.

Wolfsburg were much the better side in the first half, enjoying long periods of possession with Nicklas Bendtner attempting a martial arts move on the ball instead of a simple header as one of the highlights. Arsenal came back in the last 5 minutes putting together a trademark fluid combination between Jack Wilshere and Mesut Oezil to work the ball to Nacho Monreal out on the left flank. The Spaniard’s smart cut back found Oezil whose finely squeezed shot wasn’t quite angled enough to find the net and the ball trickled past goal. Arsenal were much the better side in the second half without being spectacular.
