The Opening season of the Indian Super League is nearing the halfway mark and the sleeping giant that is Indian Football is definitely showing signs of stirring.
Most of the games have been well attended. At least two of those games were played in venue pretty close to where I am writing this.I could not attend either of the games because (a) I did not have the time and (b) the tickets were all sold out anyway. The tickets are reasonably priced and wont burn a hole in your pocket and hence they get sold out pretty fast.
In the latest game in the League the Kerala Blasters finally managed to win a game. They beat Pune FC 2-1.
The Kerala Blasters were themselves doing a pretty good impersonation of a sleeping giant. In most of the games they have played they have enjoyed the giant’s share of possession but have been unable to win.So this win is a welcome change for them.
The Kerala Blasters by the way have David Benjamin James as the goalkeeper cum manager.
David Benjamin James has played for Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham United, Manchester City and Portsmouth holds the EPL record for the most clean sheets
