The Liverpool v/s Middlesbrough Capital One game ended at 2 goals each. This was followed by a penalty shootout that went to 30 goals in what is being described as one of the most remarkable penalty shoot- outs in English history….
Record of other mind bogglingly epic shootouts here… ( Including one that took a week to complete)
I would never believe that it would take 30 goals to get out of a tied score. Its just amazing how that can happen I have been playing soccer for a long time and to think of penalty kicks taking that long i would never of thought that penalty kicks should be fast ending up with a goal just shoot to one of the corners most likely it would go in. But otherwise it depends on the wind and the aiming and how hard you you kick the ball at least Liverpool won.
Brian, we should have been paid to see that! The 2005 Namibia Cup final ranks as the longest. 48 PK’s taken!
Here is a link to the longest PK shootouts.
