Hiddink was verbolgenheid after the Dutch lost to the Czech Republic.
Guus Hiddink, switched to Louis Van Gaal’s favoured 3-5-2 for the match against the Czech Republic and it proved problematic for them too. The Czech’s played rope a dope and then went ahead on Borek Dockal’s left footed smash into the corner. That prompted the return of the more familiar 4-3-3 and the Netherlands got back on even terms through Stefan De Vrij’s header. Just when it looked like heading towards a draw, Darry Jaanmat’s terrible mistake under pressure allowed Vaclav Pilar to pounce on the ball and score the winner. What was Jaanmat thinking? Was that header meant for Jasper Cillesen or was it supposed to go out for a corner?
