German Formula One driver Nico Rosberg’s idea of celebrating Germany’s World cup win by putting an image of the World Cup on his helmet got shot down pretty quickly by the FIFA.
It was a question of their intellectual property rights getting infringed they said.
A FIFA spokesperson said: “FIFA is obliged to take action against any unauthorised reproduction of its intellectual property in a commercial context.
His revised design of the Helmet has 4 stars on it to represent the 4 times Germany have won the world cup – and no sign of any world cup image on it anywhere.
He was thus able to baffle the howling mob of FIFA lawyers baying for blood and get on with his World Cup celebrations.
