Selwyn Brown from Steel Pulse joins SoccerBlog to share his thoughts about World Cup 2014 in Brazil.
Spain 1 Holland 5
Wow, wasn’t expecting that!! I had Spain down as one of 4 countries that I see eventually lifting the World Cup 2014 along with Germany, Brazil and Argentina. That said it’s still early days and if Spain win their remaining 2 group games I believe they’ll still progress to the quarter finals at least. Sometimes a loss like this can be a blessing as it shakes off complacency and gets everyone totally focused. It’s a test of Spain’s character now to see how they’ll respond.
Mexico 1 Cameroon 0
Mexico off to a narrow win against Cameroon. Mexico were favourites to win this clash, Cameroon not putting up much resistance even though only a solitary goal settled the tie.
Chile 3 Australia 1
impressive Chile making their mark early with this emphatic win against the Socceroos. Chile are considered in some quarters as a side who can go all the way so this performance could be a glimpse of more to come.
