A fantastic Brad Friedel save, a quick throw to jump start a blistering counterattack as Luka Modric finds a galloping Gareth Bale down the left and the wingback cuts back to Rafael Van Der Vaart following up. The Dutchman sends the ball flying past Michael Vorm. Swansea come back through Gyulfi Sigurdsson and then dominate the ball in the second half.
But Spurs capitalize on the Swans very soft defending on set pieces. Van Der Vaart swings in a corner and Adebayor rises unmolested and untouched to hang in the air for an eternity and head the ball past Vorm. Great goal but Ade was made to look good by a defense that did not even challenge him. Again, minutes later Aaron Lennon’s laser cross finds Ade as Swansea fails to react.
Spurs snap their losing funk and are now level with Arsenal on points with the Gunners barely ahead on goal differential. Chelsea and Newcastle keep up the pressure as the race for third and fourth hots up again.
