In case anyone wants to revisit Espanyol’s 1-1 draw over Barcelona this past weekend here are the highlights. Barca’s fierce crosstown rivals did Real Madrid a huge favour by playing spoilers moving them five points clear on top of the table. Barca went ahead through Cesc Fabregas. Who knew he could head the ball with such venom, a phenomenon previously unknown to Arsenal fans. It was his 9th goal in 17 matches, 13th in all competitions.
But the bigger story was Alvaro Vasquez’s 86th minute equalizer that brought the Cornella El Prat to its feet. There was drama to follow as Raul Rodriguez blocked Pedro’s shot with his hand after Gerard Pique’s rebound off the crossbar fell to the Barca striker. No penalty was called and with that Espanyol might have buried Barca’s Liga hopes.
One comment on “La Liga: Espanyol rains on Barca’s parade, 1-1”
How do you guys feel about how soccer is presented and analyzed on TV? I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this, and I have created a video that I believe you will find very valuable. You won’t look at a soccer game on TV the same way again, whether or are a soccer fan, or a hater!

My theory is based on a study of how we watch soccer, and the differences in the viewing experience provided by soccer vs. the “big 3” sports.
I feel that the analysis in this video holds the key for what is needed in order for soccer in America to take the next step.
Please take a few minutes to check it out, I assure you it will be well worth it.
