Spain did not need Lukasz Fabianski to win. It was an exhibition of beautiful football orchestrated by the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, and Fabregas who seemed to have a hand in all the goals.
Check out the second goal – it involved Iniesta, Xavi, and Silva in a sequence of passes that mesmerizes the Poles.
Iniesta hands it to Xavi who hands it to Silva who hands it to Iniesta who hands it to Silva who hands it to Iniesta. Xavi collides with a Polish player and falls down. Iniesta spins around, Xavi recovers and surges forward, Iniest coolly and calmly waits and then chips the ball over a Polish defender, Xavi volleys it across the goal unselfishly for Silva to finish off. One touch.
Villa, Xabi Alonso, Fabregas, Torres, and Pedro also scored for the half a dozen. El Nino came in the second half for Villa and looked sharp. This bodes badly for the rest of the World Cup teams.
