about revamping Real Madrid’s defense and midfield. Two areas that could do with improvement if they want to challenge Barca.
Maicon is set to follow his boss to the Bernabeu. His presence would mean that Sergio Ramos would be shifted to central defense. Real’s weak link is at left back where Marcelo has not done well which could mean the Brazilian’s departure and the arrival of Lazio’s highly rated Aleksandar Kolarov.
The midfield could be further enhanced with the arrival of Daniele De Rossi, although Roma has previously stated that his transfer is non-negotiable but maybe for the correct price, he could be lured away. Mourinho is also keen on bringing Steven Gerrard who might want to leave Anfield if the present ownership mess cannot be sorted out.
Sevilla’s Jesus Navas and Benfica’s Angel Di Maria are also thought to be on Mourinho’s horizon, to widen Real’s game and bring speed down the flanks.
