The Bhoys did not win the SPL but they had the satisfaction of winning the best thing after that. They beat Gers through Marc-Antoine Fortuné’s header which went between goalkeeper Allan McGregor’s outspread legs in the 45th minute.
Just two minutes before Kenny Miller’s header had restored parity for Rangers after Lee Naylor’s deflected free kick had given the home side an early lead.
A win of this magnitude is a huge boost for manager Neil Lennon who is expected to continue as Celtic coach and fuel the Old Firm rivalry with his combative and pugnacious style.
