The host country is Angola.
Since the first African Cup of Nations tournament was held in Sudan in 1957, host countries have failed to reach at least the semi-finals on only four occasions so Angola have that bit of history to deal with.
The groups are as given below and I’m not sure which one qualifies as the group of death.Hosting a tournament of this nature is a welcome change I am sure for a country that is emerging from 27 years of civil war.It is also coincidentally the 27th edition of the African Cup of Nations.More here..
GROUP A: ANGOLA, MALI, MALAWI, ALGERIA
GROUP B: COTE D’IVOIRE, BURKINA FASO, GHANA, TOGO
GROUP C: EGYPT, NIGERIA, MOZAMBIQUE, BENIN
GROUP D: CAMEROON, GABON, ZAMBIA, TUNISIA
One comment on “African Cup of Nations kicks off on the 10th of Jan”
I am very sorry for Angolan team which is not
really prepared to compete with strong teams
like mali
But the only thing i personally appreciate is that Angola has organised almost everthing read such as acommodation, transpotation etc.
