The delectable Charlize Theron will be co-hosting the World Cup draw. She is part of a star studded group that includes England icon David Beckham, Olympic gold medalist Haile Gebrselassie, rugby World Cup-winning captain, John Smit, South African cricketing great Makhaya Ntini and African football legend Roger Milla.
Theron is a versatile actress. De-glamorizing herself to an extent to be virtually unrecognizable as serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster for which she received the Oscar for best actress. A cringe worthy acceptance speech almost undid her fine performance in the movie.
In an interview she articulates what the World Cup means to her and her country:
“We plan to celebrate to next year, we plan to enjoy every moment of this World Cup. This event will put incredible spotlight to this country and what we have gone through as a nation. We have travelled a long way, we have had our challenges as a young democracy, but people mustn’t forget that we have achieved so much in a short space of time.”
Would you like some more wine and Charlize with your draw?
