Song is Arsenal’s most improved player this season

Richard Williams does not see what is obvious to Arsenal fans.
” and the unconvincing performance of Alexandre Song, the latest candidate – following the discarded Gilberto Silva, Mathieu Flamini and Lassana Diarra – to plug the midfield gap left by the departures of Emmanuel Petit and Patrick Vieira. ”
Au contraire, Song has been a rock solid performer this season.

  1. That’s to be expected though. It took Flamini awhile before he started getting recognition for his work in midfield, and then as soon as he did, he was off. Maybe from an Arsenal perspective, it’s better if the media don’t rate Song. It might keep him from running of to Spain or Italy.

  2. I agree. The more they degrade/ deride Song’s role, the lesser the chances of a high priced offer that could tempt him away. Meanwhile, he certainly provided steel to Arsenal’s defense, which has been their Achilles heel. Talking about heels (and ankles), RVP is crocked for 5 months now.
