It might help to win before you get drunk. But when you lose and then get drunk, then that’s pushing your luck. Especially if you are the Czech Republic which is struggling to remain in World Cup qualifying contention.
The Czech FA banned Tomas Ujfalusi, Martin Fenin, Milan Baros, Vaclav Sverkos, Radoslav Kovac and Marek Matejovsky for drinking till the wee hours after their loss against Slovakia. Their first defeat at the hands of their neighbours in 12 years and their second incident of binge drinking
They also sacked coach Petr Rada for his team’s poor performances. Ujfalusi, the captain also announced his retirement from international soccer.
The Czech government lost a no confidence vote and now they do not have a soccer team.
