Former Uruguay international Dario Silva lost his lower right leg in a car crash in September 2006.The accident occurred as Silva when lost control of his pick-up truck.He was thrown from the vehicle, colliding with a street light post. In the impact Silva fractured his skull, was knocked unconscious and suffered a compound fracture on his right leg .The leg had to be amputated.Not many people would make a comeback to football after having suffered the loss of a leg.Silva amazingly recently took part in a charity match for the ‘Fundación Niños con Alas’ (Children with Wings Foundation) to raise money for needy youngsters in his country.He also scored a goal.
