A physical Aussie team turned up to give the Dutch boys a run for their money.
Captain Mark Viduka believes his team’s World Cup preparations are on track, despite Australia lacking spark in what was a flattering 1-1 draw early yesterday against The Netherlands.
Viduka admitted his team-mates had heavy legs after rigorous two-a-day sessions designed to have the Australians in peak physical condition for the June 12 cup opener against Japan.

BONUS: Socceroos Theme Song [to the tune of Waltzing Matilda]
by Marya Glyn-Daniel
Once a nifty Socceroo
Champion by the final gong
Ozzie was his middle name oy oy
And he sang as he equalised
Penalised and sideline-ised.
Socceroos are waltzing and dancing with joy
Chorus:
Gunyah the Socceroos Gunyah the Socceroos
Aussies are waltzing and dancing with you
Down came a defender
Kaiserslaughton local boy
Down came the umpire
With yellow card he
Ozzie sang as he slid and
Slipped in a penalty
Socceroos are waltzing and dancing with me.
Chorus:
Gunyah the Socceroos Gunyah the Socceroos
Aussies are waltzing and dancing with you
Back comes the umpire
Thinks he’s a thoroughbred
Upcome the strikers
One two three
Where’s that nifty Harry Kewell
Noting all the penalty goals
Where’s his coach and team mates
Hiding up a tree?
Up jumps Viduka
Hero Message on his strip
You’ll never catch me today says he
And he ran and he kicked
Until he heard that final gong
Aussies are waltzing and dancing with me.
Chorus:
Gunyah the Socceroos Gunyah the Socceroos
Aussies are waltzing and dancing with you
