UEFA refuses to give one minute silence for Instanbul victims

one-minute-of-silence
UEFA refused on Wednesday to hold a minute of silence for Istanbul Atatürk Airport bombing victims ahead of the remaining Euro 2016 matches.

Rob Harris, a reporter from the Associated Press said that the top body refused to hold minute’s science citing the reason that the attack was not “related directly” to football.

“UEFA says it holds minute’s silence when tragedies are ‘related to football directly, or to one of the participating teams or host country’” Harris said, ignoring the fact that Turkey is one of the participating teams.
The fact that they have been knocked out of the tournament has apparently also made them ineligible for this token mark of respect for those who lost their lives so tragically.
The UEFA bosses need to get their heads examined.

  1. The people at UEFA have always been making questionable decisions, but this one is just outrageous. What about if the same happened in England. They’ve been knocked out, but I bet UEFA would’ve held the minute’s silence in the semifinals.
